After the recent political events that have shown an increase of far-right movements and ideals in our society, our associations wanted to develop a project to stop the hatred that starts to develop in high school classrooms and to boost the inclusion of groups at risk of exclusion, so we are focusing especially on the inclusion of the roma community.
The partner entities currently collaborate with entities of refugees, persons with disabilities, and culturally segregated people, which is why we have decided that we can focus now on this beneficiary group, being an opportunity to work together as partners, and to create truly useful results with a great impact on this group.
The main focus and outputs that we have developed for the fight against hate ideology and the segregation of groups at risk of exclusion in secondary schools are:
- Open Educational Resources (O2). Kits aimed at promoting coexistence, inclusion, and empathy among high school students with obstacles as a mechanism to prevent early school leaving.
.
- A virtual environment (R1) to identify the segregation of students in their classroom and the appearance of hate speech and its first signs against students at risk of exclusion. This online tool will include surveys with indirect questions (not bluntly asking about bullying), appealing for the students, with the objective of getting answers that can later be compared with templates showing hateful or segregational tendencies.
.
- A EXPLANATORY GUIDE OF THE ANALYSIS OF THE LEVEL OF INCIDENCE OF HATE SPEECH IN THE CLASSROOM (R2). This guide lays the theoretical, educational, and mathematical basis for defining the algorithm that R1 uses to generate the report for the analysis of the incidence of Hate Speech in the classroom.
.
- A didactic program (R3), aimed at teachers in the field of school education for levels between 12 and 16 years old (equivalent in Spain to secondary school) from all over Europe, so they are trained to achieve an inclusive classroom where roma students can overcome their barriers and reach educational success, and to learn specific strategies to remove hate speech from their classrooms.
